the perfect world..

A friend of mine and I were discussing one night about how nice it would be to be living in a perfect world. If we had the choice of choosing what we want to be surrounded with, if we can choose to only interact with the people who we want to interact with things would be simple.

Wait, would it?

Would it make life simpler and less stressful, if we all could choose the elements that we had to deals with. If we could just choose the things that make us happy in life, dream career with a beautiful house, the perfect family, perfect grades, perfect weather, roads with no traffic, no bills, no disasters, no pleasing people, no responsibilities..... a perfect life.

Would one be happy with that perfect life.

My friend said "people are frustrated not because of the cause of the situation, but because they don't know the ending of the situation. Why do you think people like movies? Because they know there is an ending: good or bad. All they want is an ending"

Maybe that's what we need. Just knowing the fact that there is an ending..
wait maybe that's what I need....

  1. Good point. We get frustrated because we don't know when it will end... but if it's something exciting, we don't want to know when it will end...

  2. at least an ending to a particular scene in this movie of life. when the director yells cut and then suddenly we're in the next phase of our life. that "happily ever after" is a myth, because in fiction, it never shows how it's maintained. if i could just walk off into the sunset like charlie chaplin, and that was that, life would be a lot easier.

but the question is, is an easy life really that desirable?

  3. i wonder about that often: "wow, i get to make all the shots" but then i think having life your way can get boring. take on the challenges because you'll discover things you've never seen in yourself.

this kind of reminds me of "Tangled," the animated film, about Repunzal. One part the guy talked about was dream. then Repunzal was like 'what if you get your dream' and he responded 'then you find a new dream.' so i think once you reach the end of this journey, think about a new one :D
